I take privacy issues very seriously in this website. I do not include any information (even names) of anyone born after 1900. I do not include a gedcom database file for public downloading. I do not include source information because some of it is attributed to living people. I do not include certain types of personal facts, even for people who are long dead.

There are several programs you can download to "clean up" gedcom files and remove anyone born after a certain date. But they do not work well if you have incomplete information about some individuals. For example, I have an aunt with a missing birthdate, but I know she is very much alive. I also have a great-great-great-grandmother with a missing birthdate, and I am quite certain she is dead.

I wrote a custom program to clean the Calistri-Yeh genealogy database. It uses several heuristics to make reasonable estimates of missing birthdates, so I can safely remove the appropriate people while still retaining older records that are of greater genealogical use.
