The Synergismus Duo: Randy & Millie Calistri-Yeh


Millie Calistri-Yeh is currently first violinist in the Connecticut Symphony Orchestra and Farmington Valley Symphony Orchestra (CT). She was formerly first violinist in the Livingston Symphony Orchestra (NJ) and the Greater Rochester Women's Philharmonic Orchestra (NY), and assistant concertmaster of the Finger Lakes Symphony Orchestra (NY). She studied violin at the Eastman School of Music under Stanley Chepaitis and Oliver Steiner.

Millie is a materials scientist at Becton Dickinson specializing in reducing the environmental impact of single-use medical devices.


Randy Calistri-Yeh is currently assistant principal cellist in Connecticut Symphony Orchestra and the Farmington Valley Symphony Orchestra. He was formerly principal cellist of the Livingston Symphony Orchestra (NJ), principal cellist of the Penfield Symphony Orchestra (NY), and principal cellist of the Finger Lakes Symphony Orchestra (NY).

In addition to orchestral and chamber music, he also gives solo cello concerts. Some of his solo cello performances are available here.

Randy is the founder of Custom Chamber Music, which provides custom arrangements of classical music.

Randy has a Ph.D. in computer science and has a long history building artificial intelligence personalization systems.


Millie and Randy play a matched set of instruments from David Burgess, one of the top contemporary American luthiers. Millie's violin is from 2004, and Randy's cello is from 1983. David worked closely with us to balance the two instruments so that they perfectly complement each other.
